Building a Mobile Pet Grooming Trailer

Mobile grooming has grown quickly, and a trailer build gives you more space and more separation from the tow vehicle than a van conversion.
The four systems
This build lives or dies on these, and they interact.
- **Water.** Fresh tank, pump, water heater and a plumbing run. Our guide on water tanks and plumbing covers the layout considerations.
- **Grey water.** Where the used water goes. This is the one people under-plan, and it is a legal as well as practical matter — you cannot simply run it onto the ground at a client's property.

- **Climate.** In South Georgia heat, ventilation and cooling are not optional for the animals' welfare or yours.
Layout
- Tub position, with drainage in mind — that dictates a lot of the rest.
- Grooming table with room to work all around it.
- Storage for products, tools and towels within reach but secured in transit.

- A door and step arrangement that animals can use safely.
- Lighting that is genuinely bright enough to work under.
Ventilation and cooling
Dryers generate heat, animals generate heat, and a closed trailer in Georgia summer is already hot. This is a welfare issue rather than a comfort one.

Water capacity
