PCS Move Trailers: Fort Stewart, Robins AFB and the Georgia Military Towns

Hinesville sits outside Fort Stewart. Warner Robins grew up around Robins Air Force Base. Both are regular delivery runs from our lot in Douglas, and a lot of the trailers we send that way are bought for the same reason: a family has orders, a date and more stuff than the household goods shipment will handle on the schedule they need. Why a trailer instead of a rental

A rental truck is paid for once and returned. A trailer is paid for once and kept. At the other end it becomes the storage unit in the driveway, the hauler for the next move, and the trailer that goes to the lake. The right size

A 6x12 tandem handles the essentials for a couple or a small family and tows behind most full-size SUVs and half-ton trucks. A 7x14 or 7x16 is the common family answer: enough for several rooms of furniture and the garage, with a ramp door so the heavy pieces roll in on a dolly. Go longer only if you have a truck rated to pull it loaded across the country; a trailer that is too big for the tow vehicle is a worse problem than one that is a little tight. Options that matter on a long move

• Electric brakes, on every axle. A cross-country move is the trip they are for.
• A ramp door with spring assist, because furniture goes in on wheels.
• A side door, so you can reach the overnight bag without unloading the sofa.
• E-track on both walls, and enough straps to use it.
• Interior LED lights on a battery for loading after dark.
• A spare tire on a mount. Do not leave on a long haul without one.

Before you pull out

Load heavy items over the axles and keep the tongue weight in range; our load and balance guide walks through it. Check tire pressures cold, confirm every light, and do a short loaded test drive before the real departure so you know how the rig feels. Timing and delivery

Orders come with a report date and the calendar usually gets tight. We keep trailers in stock on the lot and we deliver to Hinesville and Warner Robins regularly, so a family that calls with a date can usually have the trailer in the driveway well ahead of the packers.
